Investment-grade BBB rating reinforces Ripple Prime’s position in regulated markets and institutional brokerage services

Ripple has reached a key milestone as its prime brokerage arm, Ripple Prime, secures a BBB investment-grade rating. The upgrade signals rising credibility in regulated financial markets. Strong capital backing and steady growth in brokerage and clearing services continue to support its expansion.

BBB Rating Signals Confidence in Ripple Prime’s Brokerage Model

Global credit rating agency Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA) has given a BBB issuer rating to Ripple Prime CIV US BD HoldCo LLC. The same rating was also assigned to its main operating company, Hidden Road Partners CIV US LLC.

Ripple Prime is registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a broker-dealer. It is also registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) as a futures commission merchant. These licenses allow the firm to handle trading and clearing for clients in regulated markets.’

This just in: global credit rating agency Kroll has assigned @Ripple Prime an investment grade issuer rating (BBB), reflecting the financial strength, business expansion and disciplined execution of our growing prime brokerage platform.

Also, Ripple Prime is a member of key financial organizations. These include FINRA, which oversees broker activity, and SIPC, which protects client assets. At the same time, the firm serves as a clearing member of CME Group. This allows it to process trades across major derivatives exchanges.

It also participates in the FICC Government Securities Division, which supports trading in U.S. government debt. As a result, Ripple Prime offers prime brokerage services backed by strong capital and credibility. In turn, the new rating reflects growing recognition, as markets begin to pay closer attention to its role and progress.

Parent Support Anchors Ripple Prime’s Growth as Operations Scale

The issuer rating reflects that Ripple Prime US is still in a growth phase. Its business currently focuses on clearing and intermediation services. These are mainly offered through its exchange-traded derivatives (ETD) platform, launched in 2024.

In addition, the firm runs similar activities in the fixed-income repo market. This segment grew significantly in 2025. Most of this activity involves short-term U.S. Treasuries and agency securities, which are considered lower-risk and highly liquid.

Furthermore, balance sheet expansion has been significant over the past year. Profitability was achieved in 2025, supported by roughly $500 million in capital injections from Ripple Labs. That funding followed Ripple’s acquisition of Hidden Road in late 2025, which formed the basis of Ripple Prime.

Parental backing plays a central role in the rating. KBRA noted that Ripple would likely provide financial support if constraints limit dividend flows from the operating entity. Ripple Prime holds strategic importance within the broader group, reinforced by capital already committed.

Brad Garlinghouse addressed the milestone in a post on X, calling it a clear validation of Ripple Prime’s strength, reliability, and technology. He added that momentum builds as markets begin to recognize these attributes.
