Golden Finance reported that, according to Arkham Intelligence data, the small South Asian country of Bhutan with a population of only 800,000 (El Salvador with a population of 6.4 million) has 12,574 BTC, worth 1.1 billion USD at current prices. The value of BTC held by Bhutan accounts for over one-third of the country's GDP (slightly less than 3 billion USD), while the 500 million USD worth of BTC held by El Salvador only accounts for 1.5% of its GDP. According to reports, Bhutan's BTC holdings are accumulated through BTCMining, as the country has abundant hydroelectric resources. In September, Arkham reported that Bhutan is likely to become the fourth largest BTC holding country.
