I've just noticed something very interesting in the Web3 space in 2026: DOMA, a protocol that seems to be overlooked but has the potential to bring about a major transformation.
The same old problem we've always faced: traditional domains like .com or .ai are highly valuable but have very low liquidity. If you want to sell, you need to go through intermediaries, which takes time and incurs high costs. That’s why there are assets worth trillions, but they’re stuck in the old markets.
So how does DOMA solve this problem? This protocol allows domains to be tokenized. The cool part is, it still works normally within the DNS system, preserving the internet user experience. At the same time, domains become ERC-20 tokens that can be divided, bought, and sold on DeFi 24/7, used as collateral, or even bridged across chains like Solana, Base, Avalanche.
What makes DOMA different is the design of two types of tokens: DOT for ownership (divisible and tradable), and DST for DNS rights (manage subdomains, set name resolution, lease). This way, domain owners can "sell a part of the future" while still maintaining control over their rights.
Data shows that DOMA is truly impactful: within less than 90 days of launching on the mainnet, over 100 domains were launched, trading volume exceeded $42 million, over 111,000 assets were tokenized, and more than 30,000 wallets participated. Some high-quality domains have proven capable of unlocking liquidity quickly—faster than traditional broker markets.
For everyday people, DOMA greatly lowers the barrier: no need for millions of dollars. You can hold a small fraction of a major domain asset with just a few hundred dollars. For veteran domain players, it opens new avenues and income opportunities never before possible.
Looking broadly, DOMA isn’t just a short-term story. It’s a major disruption in internet ownership. It introduces a multi-trillion-dollar domain market (with over 390 million domains) into the blockchain era for the first time. As we move into 2026, with Dominion conferences and new TLD waves, I believe DOMA will become one of the strongest growth engines in the RWA (Real-World Asset) pathway.
