So I've been scrolling through meme coins 2024 and honestly, the space is absolutely wild right now. The old guard like DOGE and SHIB are still holding strong with solid gains, but what's crazy is how many new projects are popping off. DOGE's sitting at around $14.5B market cap these days, which is insane for a coin that started as a joke back in 2013.

But here's what really caught my attention—a bunch of these newer meme coins are ditching Ethereum and moving to cheaper blockchains. Like, Bonk blew up on Solana, and now you've got projects like CorgiAI (which hit an all-time high earlier this year with $2M daily volumes) doing the same thing. Even the presale coins like ApeMax are trying to stand out with actual utility instead of just vibes. Their "Boost-to-Earn" staking thing is at least different from the usual meme coin formula.

WIF on Solana is another one that surprised me—it's up to $197M market cap now, and it's actually gained 2% in the last week instead of dumping like I expected. Dogwifhat's whole vibe is just a dog in a pink hat, but somehow it works. Then you've got Coq Inu on Avalanche sitting at $8M, and Snek on Cardano at $31M—these are the ones people don't really talk about but they're quietly building communities.

The thing that's interesting about meme coins 2024 is that they're not just jokes anymore. Projects are actually trying to add features, pick different blockchains to save on gas, and build real communities instead of just pump-and-dump schemes. PEPE, Bonk, CorgiAI—they all have their own ecosystems now.

That said, I'd be lying if I said this space wasn't risky as hell. These things are volatile, and most of them have zero utility beyond the hype. If you're thinking about jumping into meme coins, do your own research and don't put in money you can't afford to lose. This whole sector can swing either way pretty fast.
