The U.S. Navy has officially approved Raytheon’s StormBreaker smart weapon for operational use on the F/A-18-E/F Super Hornet, enhancing its precision strike capabilities in all weather conditions against moving and stationary targets. This approval follows the weapon’s integration on the F-15E and ongoing integration on F-35 variants, with the Super Hornet having first carried StormBreaker in 2023. The compact size of the StormBreaker allows a single aircraft to engage more surface targets and reduces aircrew exposure to harm.
