Once, a friend of mine told me she had 4 bodies. I didn't give it much importance because that's quite chaste by current standards.

A few weeks later, as we got closer, she told me she had been raped. Obviously, I showed her a lot of empathy, felt terrible, and comforted her.

However, being the fool that I am and humor being my preferred way to cheer people up, I made a serious mistake by asking in a joking tone "so... um... is it 4 or 5 then...".

She didn't find it as funny as I thought she would.

We didn't last much longer after that.
