AAVE former core member: If value structurally shifts from DAO to private entities, it will undermine AAVE's competitiveness.
Foresight News reports that Marc Zeller, a former core member of AAVE, tweeted that the issue is not the existence of private companies. Private companies should indeed develop products. The problem arises when private entities unilaterally control the storefront and signage, while the DAO ecosystem is responsible for keeping the engine running, making the situation complicated. Marc stated that a significant portion of “founder” talent and the most strategically important developers are now working independently within the DAO ecosystem. This is a crucial reason why Aave can continue to deliver, manage risks properly, and expand its market share consistently over multiple cycles. If value structurally shifts from the DAO to private entities, key talent will be lost, and the ecosystem that makes Aave successful will be weakened. Additionally, he noted that there is often a misunderstanding that service providers are “squeezing” value. On the contrary, service providers have a high alignment of interests with the Token and, compared to the value they maintain and create, the cost of maintaining Aave DAO's professional execution is relatively low.
