X announced that it will discontinue the use of the twitter.com domain and requires users to rebind their Secret Key and Passkey within two weeks.

PANews reported on October 27 that X claims its security Secret Key is currently bound to “twitter.com” and to “retire” that domain, requiring accounts using hardware security Secret Keys or Passkeys to re-sign up to “x.com” within two weeks, otherwise the Secret Key will become invalid and the account will be locked. X emphasized that this move is unrelated to any security incidents and will not affect other 2FA methods such as the Authenticator app. The official statement says that those who have not re-linked by November 10 will need to re-sign up, switch to other 2FA methods, or disable 2FA to unlock their accounts.
