Japan October 2025 Equipment Utilization Index MoM: Data Release

On October 15, 2025, Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) released the month-on-month Equipment Utilization Index for September. The reported figure was -2.3%. This data is published monthly.The equipment utilization rate measures the percentage of actual equipment operating time to scheduled operating time on an annual basis. The importance of this data is rated at level 2. The statistical methodology is also based on the ratio of actual to scheduled equipment usage. The next release is scheduled for the following month.
