## Ubisoft launches its First Web3 Game Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles
Ubisoft, the gaming giant popularly known for Assassin Creed and Just Dance,  recently launched its web3 tactical strategy game titled Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles. This game exists on the Oasys blockchain. Ubisoft's entry into the blockchain gaming sector marks a new era for the industry. Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles is now one of the crypto games that have outstanding web3 features and promotes customization as well as player engagement. 

This  role-playing game (RPG) requires players to assemble a team of champions to compete with other gamers in player-versus-player (PvP) battles. Basically, it combines web2 and web3 gaming features to enhance player engagement and enjoyment. By integrating web2 and web3 gaming features, the free-to-play NFT game offers the players a true immersive experience. Most significantly, the PvP element of the Ubisoft NFT game makes it highly competitive, yet highly challenging as well.

Champions Tactics Grimoria Chronicles’ existence on the Oasys blockchain increases its transparency and provides the opportunity for the players to own in-game assets. Ubisoft first announced the game, which it developed from scratch, in 2023. It is important to note that the game is available through Ubisoft Connect platform, a global gaming platform.

## Ubisoft's Previous Blockchain Gaming Endeavors: its Vital Learning Experience 
Ubisoft’s entry into the blockchain gaming sector has not been a sail in the park. Its earlier attempts failed to sync with its vision and ambition. For example, its attempt to develop and launch the first NFT game, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, was not a success. Ubisoft launched it as a PC game on the <a href="/price/tezos-xtz" target="_blank" class="blog_inner_link">Tezos</a> network. Previously, the gaming company had several other attempts in collaboration with some blockchain startups. 

## Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles’ NFT Integration
No doubt, Champions Tactics Grimoria Chronicles has become one of the leading NFT games.  It has various in-game NFTs that include Warlords, Champions and some PFPs. For example, the gamers may use Warlord NFTs to add to their in-game profiles. Also, the Warlord NFT collectors are able to use this in-game asset to purchase champions, a playable NFT character. As a fact, in December 2023 Ubisoft released a free Warlord mining program. Nonetheless, these in-game NFTs that Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles had were all claimed within 20 minutes. In all, 999 Warlords NFT were minted. It is essential to realize that the players can create their own champions by merging two existing NFTs.  

The other in-game NFTs are Champions which play a key role in the game. The NFT champions are the in-game characters the players use during battles. To play the game each player has to assemble a team of Champions which will take an active role in battles with opponents. Already, Ubisoft has minted 75,000 champions on the Oasys blockchain network. These were distributed for free to the players. To play the game anyone can use the provided “ethereal champions,” or non-NFT warriors to download it for free.

On the other hand,  people can buy the NFTs on secondary marketplaces. Currently, each Champion is priced at $10 worth of OAS, the Oasys native cryptocurrency. Magic Eden is one of the major secondary markets for NFT Champions and other digital collectibles. However, the NFT users can purchase some of these digital assets at Ubisoft Marketplace.

## Captain Laserhawk - Ubisoft's Ongoing Commitment to Blockchain Gaming
Ubisoft is expected to launch another web3 game, Captain Laserhawk. The G.A.M.E. will be launched any time in 2024 or 2025. Notably, the Netflix series "Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix,  inspired the creation of the game. Captain Laserhawk is set in the dystopian world of Eden and allows the gamers to assume roles in a totalitarian state. In order to relate to the context of the game, it is vital to note that Eden was a technocracy that existed in the 1990s and was formerly known as the USA.
