Japan Lightning Network payment startup UseBitcoin announces sales of 100 million yen

ChainNewsAbmedia

Bitcoin startup UseBitcoin announces that sales have surpassed 100 million yen, becoming Japan’s fastest-growing Bitcoin payment application company. The platform supports connecting Lightning Network wallets to buy gift cards for spending, emphasizing fast and convenient payments, high privacy, and low transaction fees, while also covering multiple mainstream Japanese digital payment brands, including au PAY, V-Preca, as well as Kyash, QUO Card Pay, DMM, BitCash, and more.

UseBitcoin uses the Lightning Network to establish payment channels

Bitcoin mainnet transactions are often limited by slow speeds and high transaction fees. UseBitcoin builds payment channels outside the main chain through the Lightning Network, reducing fees and making it more convenient for handling small payments. This allows consumers to use Bitcoin to purchase gift cards or points with denominations of several hundred yen and make consumption payments without having to bear excessive transaction fees, boosting the market for micro-economies.

Digital gift cards converted into in-person spending

UseBitcoin allows users to use Bitcoin to purchase electronic gift cards and points. Consumers can choose the denomination they need from a variety of product options. The products UseBitcoin currently offers include mainstream Japanese digital payment tools such as au PAY, V-Preca gift cards, Kyash, QUO Card Pay, DMM points, and BitCash. Denominations range from 500 yen to 100,000 yen, meeting the needs for everyday small-amount shopping purchases. After payment confirmation, the system immediately displays a digital code on the screen for users to save. This type of model transforms Bitcoin amounts that were originally larger, through a middle substitution mechanism, directly into everyday retail consumption spending.

The payment process is marketed as safeguarding users’ personal information

UseBitcoin’s platform adopts a “no account registration required” strategy—no need to fill out a large amount of personal data. During the transaction, users only need to select the product and amount, and then connect a wallet that supports the Lightning Network or scan a QR code to complete the purchase. This helps prevent personal information leaks, strengthens users’ privacy protection, and for cryptocurrency holders, this simple and highly private consumption path provides more payment options and also makes it easier to spend across Japan.

Breaking the 100 million-yen sales mark reflects Japan’s potential growth momentum in the crypto market

On X, UseBitcoin announced it reached a milestone of 100 million yen in sales. This reflects that demand in the Japanese market for crypto payment services is growing. With a Lightning Network wallet that supports Bitcoin, such as Cash Wallet, users can purchase gift cards through UseBitcoin and spend them locally in Japan. By integrating the Lightning Network’s technical advantages through a simple purchasing process, the platform is first to secure a spot in Japan’s crypto consumer finance market.
