Iran has not officially responded to the extension of the ceasefire period.
Golden Finance reports that on April 23, Iran has not yet issued any official or formal response regarding U.S. President Trump’s announcement to extend the temporary ceasefire period and whether to conduct a second round of negotiations with the United States. Public opinion in Iran generally believes that the contradictory words and actions of the U.S. side and the constantly changing policies are the main reasons why Iran cannot trust the United States. Meanwhile, Israel’s multiple violations of the Lebanon-Israel ceasefire agreement and the ongoing U.S. maritime blockade of Iran are key factors affecting the negotiation process. Analysts point out that the risk of renewed war and conflict remains high, and if both sides continue to insist on their current demands and conditions, this regional crisis could evolve from a purely Iran-U.S. issue into a global problem.
