Gold Finance reports that on April 22, after U.S. President Trump announced an extension of the ceasefire with Iran but maintained the sanctions against Iran, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz posted on social media early this morning (April 22), thanking Trump for accepting Pakistan’s request and agreeing to extend the ceasefire so that the ongoing mediation efforts can proceed smoothly. In the post, Shehbaz said, “Based on mutual trust and confidence, Pakistan will continue to make sincere efforts to resolve the conflict through negotiations. I sincerely hope that both sides can continue to maintain the ceasefire and reach a comprehensive ‘peace agreement’ during the second round of talks to be held in Islamabad, to permanently end this conflict.” (CCTV International News)
