The common tactics used by market makers are breaking out with诱多 (trap with false breakout), retracement to shake out weak hands, and exploiting retail investors' psychology of chasing gains, cutting losses, panic, and greed, tightly trapping retail investors in their script. The retail investors who can break out of this script mainly fall into three categories:
1. Those with strict trading rules who resolutely follow them
No matter how the market maker manipulates with heavy selling or lifting, they operate solely according to their rules, unaffected by emotions, making it impossible for the market maker to shake them through shakeouts.
2. Those who can tolerate loneliness and setbacks, and do not watch the market frequently
Even when facing prolonged oscillations, fake breakouts, and false dips orchestrated by the market maker, they hold their core positions without wavering, ultimately allowing these retail investors to profit from the market maker's manipulations.
3. Those with very light positions and a very stable mindset
They use small amounts of capital to test the waters, and both gains and losses do not affect their mental state. The market maker cannot easily scare them away or exhaust them, enabling these retail investors to easily capture profits.
Ultimately, all the tactics of the market maker are designed around human weaknesses. As long as you avoid greed, fear, impatience, and hesitation, and maintain a calm mindset, it will be very difficult for the market maker's routines to be effective.
