Have you ever thought about the amount of money circulating in the world? That's a question I find interesting. The figures I found during my research are quite fascinating.
Considering the US dollar as a basis, there are approximately 37 trillion dollars in the world. This includes physical cash as well as all funds in bank accounts. But the interesting part starts after that. When you include investment instruments, derivatives, and crypto assets, this number exceeds 1.2 quadrillion. In other words, what we see as money is not just the cash in banks but is spread across a much broader spectrum.
Let's take a more specific look at physical money (coins and banknotes). The total value of all physical currencies worldwide is estimated to be around 6.6 trillion dollars. When we think about this, most money is now in digital form. Considering bank deposits, liquid assets, and other financial instruments, the total money supply is expressed in the tens of trillions.
So, what does the answer to the question "How much money is there in this enormous world?" mean for us? Unfortunately, the per capita share is very small. That’s why interest in crypto assets and alternative investment tools is increasing. I believe it’s time to look at the financial system from a different perspective. Bitcoin and other digital assets play an important role in this inquiry.
