JUST IN: Anthropic presented Claude Mythos preview as its most capable AI model to date, but decided not to release it to the general public.
The main reason is not commercial, but security related. According to an evaluation reviewed by Nick Saraev, the system demonstrates outstanding performance in automation, reasoning, software engineering, and offensive cybersecurity, to the point of raising concerns about potential misuse.
Claude Mythos preview is not available to the public, and Anthropic plans to release a new version of Opus, closer to those capabilities, in one or two months.
