China supplies 32% of Australia’s jet fuel and has restricted exports. South Korea supplies another 18%, but its airlines are now pushing the government to redirect those exports domestically too.


Half of Australia’s aviation fuel supply is under threat. Sydney Airport moves 9 million litres a day with every drop imported since its last refinery closed in 2014.
Jet fuel prices are up 150% since the war started. Air New Zealand has already cut 1,100 flights. Sydney Airport says there are no assurances on next week’s scheduled shipments.
