White House Insists U.S. and Iran Still in Negotiations, Warns Iran "Do Not Miscalculate"
U.S. People’s Financial News, March 26 — White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said at a press briefing on the 25th that negotiations between the U.S. and Iran are still ongoing and warned Iran “not to misjudge the situation again.” When asked about Iran’s rejection of the 15-point plan proposed by the U.S. to end the conflict, Jean-Pierre stated that “talks are still in progress,” but she was unwilling to disclose specific details of the negotiations and said the White House has never confirmed a “comprehensive plan,” and some media reports are not entirely accurate. Regarding reports that the U.S. and Iran might hold talks later this week in Pakistan, Jean-Pierre did not confirm and said, “Until the White House makes an official announcement, any related information should not be considered an official statement.” Jean-Pierre warned Iran to “face reality” and “not misjudge the situation again,” urging Iran to seize the “last opportunity” to cooperate with the U.S. According to U.S. media reports on the 24th, the U.S. has delivered a plan containing 15 key points aimed at ending the conflict to Iran through Pakistan. Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian said in an interview with national television on the 25th that over the past few days, the U.S. has conveyed proposals to Iran about ending the war through several friendly countries, and Iran’s top leadership is studying these proposals. However, Iran’s communication through these mediators “does not mean negotiations with the U.S.” (Xinhua News Agency)
