Nigerian singer Crayon. Charles Chibueze Chukwu has been trending after a public outburst following his reported exit from Mavin Records, the label founded by Don Jazzy.
Crayon, who joined the label in 2019 through Blowtime Entertainment, recently launched his own imprint, Olodum Entertainment, and released a new single titled Baami, marking his move toward independence.
In a series of emotional posts last night, he accused Mavin Records of withholding royalties and favoring other artists such as Rema and Ayra Starr. He also made personal claims about the emotional toll the situation had on him and his family. Many of the posts were later deleted, but screenshots spread widely online.
So far, neither Don Jazzy nor Mavin Records has publicly responded.
Beyond the immediate drama, the incident has sparked broader conversations about artist contracts, royalty disputes, and me¥ntal health challenges within the Nigerian music industry.
