Kroger waits to name new CEO

Kroger is still searching for a permanent CEO after Rodney McMullen’s resignation last March, with Ron Sargent serving as interim CEO. The grocery chain initially sought external high-profile candidates like Greg Foran and Judith McKenna but is now recalibrating its search. While still preferring an external hire that aligns with its culture, there’s a possibility an internal candidate like Mary Ellen Adcock could be chosen if the search continues past mid-year.
