As of the time of writing, Seres (09927) increased by 4.87%, trading at HKD 96.85; BYD Company (01211) rose by 4.56%, trading at HKD 99.8; XPeng Motors-W (09868) increased by 3.83%, trading at HKD 70.45; Li Auto-W (02015) rose by 3.57%, trading at HKD 72.6.

On the news front, on February 20th, U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the Trump administration’s large-scale tariff policies were illegal. Trump first announced an additional 10% tariff on global goods on top of regular tariffs, then stated that the original 10% global import tariff rate would be increased to 15%. Additionally, Cui Dongshu, Secretary General of the Passenger Car Association, said that China’s overseas auto production and sales system has completed a key transformation towards “industry going global.”

Fangzheng Securities released a research report stating that in January, due to seasonal off-peak effects and the previous policy of aggressive vehicle deployment, the auto market faced short-term pressure. However, as replacement subsidy policies are gradually implemented across various regions, terminal demand is expected to accelerate its recovery. Export performance remains strong, helping to smooth industry fluctuations. It is expected that by 2026, China’s auto exports will reach 6.34 million units, a year-on-year increase of about 13%, with the share of production exceeding 20%.
