Good start! Qingmao Port experiences peak two-way passenger flow during the Spring Festival holiday

Zhuhai Immigration Inspection General Station Qingmao Immigration Inspection Station data shows that as of 6 p.m. on the fifth day of the Lunar New Year (February 21), the Qingmao border checkpoint had inspected over 640,000 inbound and outbound travelers during the Spring Festival holiday, an increase of about 10% compared to the same period last year. The Qingmao port welcomed a “good start” in passenger flow for the new year.

This year’s Spring Festival holiday lasted nine days. During the first half of the holiday, passenger flow at the Qingmao port remained relatively stable. As the rich New Year celebration activities in Zhuhai and Macau continued to be held, starting from the third day of the Lunar New Year, the flow of family visitors and tourists at the port highly overlapped. The inbound and outbound passenger volume rapidly increased and remained high. On February 20, the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, the Qingmao border inspection checked over 108,000 travelers, setting a new single-day peak since the holiday began. Overall, the port experienced a large total passenger flow, a prolonged peak period, and a high proportion of family travelers.

To actively respond to the “large passenger flow” during the Spring Festival and ensure the safety and smooth passage of travelers, Qingmao Border Inspection Station made early arrangements, equipped sufficient police forces, closely monitored passenger flow dynamics, opened additional inspection channels in advance, and worked to shorten waiting times for travelers, enabling quick entry and exit. Considering the high proportion of elderly and young travelers, the station also introduced volunteer teams to strengthen consultation and guidance, providing precise services to improve the passenger clearance experience and create a warm and comfortable crossing environment.

According to Qingmao Border Inspection Station, after two days of the Spring Festival holiday (February 22 and 23), the port’s passenger flow will continue to remain high. The peak outbound travel hours are from 8:00 to 11:00, and the peak inbound hours are from 17:00 to 20:00. Travelers are advised to plan their trips reasonably and avoid peak times.
