Tether will cease the issuance and redemption of the offshore RMB stablecoin CNHT.
ChainCatcher reports that, according to official sources, Tether has announced that it will cease issuing the offshore RMB stablecoin CNHT effective immediately, and will stop supporting redemptions of CNHT one year after the announcement is made.
Tether stated that consumer interest in the product is low, and the community demand for CNHT is limited. Its usage level is insufficient to support the operational standards required for all of Tether’s products.
