In January 2026, China’s silicon wafer companies produced 46.18 GW, a decrease of 0.91% month-on-month but an increase of 3.07% year-on-year. In January, silicon wafer production was generally stable, but due to chaotic upstream silicon material prices and weakening cost support, the reduction in downstream battery cell production was much greater than in its own segment, and the trend of silicon wafer prices declining was obvious. According to Mysteel, the silicon wafer production schedule for February 2026 is 44.15 GW, a decrease of 4.39% month-on-month. (Mysteel)
