Peer-to-peer (P2P) trading is a method of buying and selling cryptocurrencies directly between users without intermediaries, giving you more flexibility in payment methods and pricing. If you are someone looking to sell crypto, this guide will help you understand each step to conduct P2P transactions safely and efficiently.
Things to Prepare Before Conducting a P2P Transaction
Before starting, you need to be aware of some important requirements. P2P transactions will only be processed through your Funding account, so ensure your funds have been transferred into this account. Additionally, your bank account name must match the registered name on the platform; otherwise, your account may be suspended, and the buyer has the right to refuse the transaction.
Transaction fees will be charged to both the recipient and the seller, with the fee varying depending on the fiat currency, ad level, or the type of ad selected. Besides platform fees, you may also need to pay fees to the payment service provider based on your chosen payment method.
To ensure safety, the system will conduct a comprehensive assessment of each transaction to determine the risk level. If a transaction is deemed high risk, a 24-hour withdrawal restriction will be applied to your account.
P2P Transaction Process
Find and Select an Ad
First, click on Buy Crypto → P2P Trading at the top left of the navigation bar. If you want to use P2P Block Trade, select P2P Block. On the Sell page, you can filter ads by criteria such as Coin Type, Amount, Fiat Currency, Payment Method, etc., to match your P2P trading needs.
When viewing the list, you will see important information in the columns:
Ad Publisher Column shows the number of orders completed in the last 30 days and the corresponding completion rate
Price Column displays the reference price offered by the counterparty
Available/Limit Column shows the available balance and the minimum and maximum transaction limits per order
Payment Method Column lists all supported payment methods
Select your preferred ad and click Sell USDT to proceed.
Enter Amount and Confirm
Enter the amount of crypto you want to sell or the fiat amount you wish to receive, then click Sell. For P2P transactions involving users verified with personal identification in AZE or AZN currencies, a bank account verification process is required. Make sure to enter the bank account details that will be used to receive the payment.
You must complete verification steps such as email, SMS, 2FA, asset password, or password verification when creating the order.
Wait and Communicate
After creating the P2P order, you will be redirected to the order page. There, you will see a countdown timer for the buyer to complete the payment. The Order Chat box on the right allows you to communicate with the buyer in real-time to clarify questions or confirm transaction details.
Complete the P2P Transaction
Once you have received payment from the buyer, click Transfer Now to release your crypto. You will be prompted to confirm that you have received the payment. Then, click Release Now and complete security verification for final confirmation. Important: Make sure you have received the money from the buyer before marking as received and unlocking your crypto.
If you have not received the payment, select I haven’t received the payment yet and click OK.
If you haven’t set up security verification on your account, refer to detailed guides on linking 2FA via Google Authenticator, setting up wallet passwords, or how to set up and manage Passkeys.
Handling Transaction Issues and Disputes
Automatic Order Cancellation
If the buyer does not complete the payment within the specified time, the order will be automatically canceled. The crypto reserved on the P2P platform will also be automatically returned to your Funding account.
Delayed Payment
If you are notified that the payment has been completed but you haven’t received it after 10 minutes, you can request to cancel the order. Contact the buyer via the Order Chat before clicking Dispute Order? to file a complaint if additional support is needed.
For more information on order cancellation and dispute procedures, refer to detailed guides or submit a request through the official form if your order was completed or canceled more than 5 days ago. When submitting a request, please provide your UID, P2P order number, and current screenshots.
Important Tips When Conducting P2P Transactions
P2P trading requires you to be proactive and cautious at every step. Always ensure your funds are in the Funding account before starting. Double-check bank account details and always confirm payment before releasing crypto. Use the Order Chat to communicate clearly with the buyer, which helps reduce disputes and ensures smooth P2P transactions.
