From there, proceed to Advanced Protection and locate the Fund Password section. Select the Settings option to initiate the configuration process. You’ll be prompted to enter your desired fund password, which must meet specific security criteria.

Password requirements for your fund password include:

• Length: 8-30 characters mandatory
• Character composition: combination of uppercase letters (A-Z), lowercase letters (a-z), and numerals (0-9)
• Uniqueness: cannot be identical to your account login password
• Verification: completion of security verification before activation

After entering your fund password that meets these standards, click Confirm. The system will prompt you to complete an additional security verification step. Once this verification is successfully processed, your fund password becomes immediately active and will be required for all future withdrawals.

Modifying and Recovering Your Fund Password

Should you need to change your fund password or remove it entirely, return to the Fund Password section in Advanced Protection. You’ll find both Change and Disable options available. An important consideration: disabling or resetting your fund password initiates a 24-hour security hold during which asset withdrawals remain unavailable.

If you’ve forgotten your fund password, the first recovery method involves accessing the Disable Fund Password window and selecting “Having problems with verification?” This option will guide you to the Reset Security Settings page where you can initiate the fund password reset process.

Alternatively, if you’re attempting to change your password, select “Forgot Fund Password” from the Change Fund Password window. This pathway also directs you to Reset Security Settings. From either entry point, select Fund Password reset and proceed to complete the required security verification steps.

Recovery of your fund password may necessitate additional verification measures beyond the standard procedure. Check the email address registered with your Gate.io account for detailed instructions. The fund password reset process typically completes within 1-2 business days, as each request undergoes a security review to confirm your account ownership and prevent unauthorized access.
