There is a father and son who wake up early every morning to study.

One day, the son asked his father, "I read like you every day, but I don't understand anything, and when I close the book, I forget everything. Is this kind of studying useful?"
The father didn't say anything. He turned around and took a bamboo basket that he usually used to carry coal and handed it to his son: "Go and fetch a basket of water."
The boy tried many times, but each time the water leaked out and was gone. Seeing his son panting and exhausted, the father smiled and pointed at the bamboo basket.
Only then did the son realize that the bamboo basket was different from before; it was clean inside and out.
Reading more, even if you don't understand or remember, will subtly change you—both on the outside and inside.
As the saying goes, there are no useless efforts in the world; even fetching water with a bamboo basket won't be empty.
