Beijing Business Daily (Reporter Guo Binlu) announced on the evening of February 4th the performance results for Yum China for the fourth quarter and full year ending December 31, 2025. Yum China’s total revenue for 2025 reached $11.8 billion, a 4% increase, with an operating profit of $1.3 billion, up 11%. In the fourth quarter, total revenue grew 9% to $2.8 billion; net profit was $140 million, a 24% year-over-year increase, and operating profit grew 25% year-over-year to $187 million.
In 2025, Yum China added a net total of 1,706 stores, with 31% opened by franchisees. Among the net new KFC and Pizza Hut stores, the franchise proportion increased from 25% in 2024 to 36% in 2025. Currently, the total number of stores reaches 18,101, covering over 2,500 towns.
Yum China CEO Cui Cuiyong stated during the earnings call that the company will further achieve the goal of over 20,000 stores by 2026 through a combined self-operated and franchised business model, and plans to exceed 30,000 stores by 2030. While deepening its layout in lower-tier cities, the company is also effectively expanding its potential market coverage through front-end tiering and back-end aggregation.
Recently, Yum China also piloted the “Gemini” model, opening KFC and Pizza Hut side by side, providing better support for the company’s entry into lower-tier cities. This model involves low store investment, making it very attractive to franchisees. In 2025, the company opened about 40 pairs of Gemini stores, and it is expected that this model will accelerate development in 2026.
