  1. OpenClaw: Malicious skill intrusion into ClawHub threatens AI agents and crypto wallets

From late January to mid-February 2026, ClawHub was injected with 1,184 malicious skills (36.8%), uploaded by a single attacker with 677 packages across 12 accounts. The malicious skills disguised as crypto trading bots, YouTube summarizers, wallet trackers, etc., with thousands of downloads, including “What Would Elon Do” which contains 9 vulnerabilities (2 critical), and was boosted through 4,000 fake downloads. Attack methods include inducing execution of malicious programs via SKILLmd documents with curl | bash (on macOS, a variant of Atomic Stealer; on Windows, a VMProtect stealer), and injecting prompts to manipulate AI agents, stealing browser passwords, over 60 crypto wallets, SSH keys, Telegram sessions, Keychain credentials, .env files, and OpenClaw configurations, some with reverse shells for persistent control. Affected instances exceed 135,000 across 82 countries.
