Xiamen welcomes the first inbound cruise ship; the 2026 cruise season kicks off

Guancha.com News: On the afternoon of February 19th, the third day of the Lunar New Year, the “Navigator” cruise ship carrying more than 2,000 passengers docked at Xiamen International Cruise Terminal, marking the official start of Xiamen’s 2026 “Cruise Season.”

According to publicly available information, in 2025, the Xiamen Maritime Safety Administration serviced and ensured the arrival and departure of 92 cruise ships. Xiamen Port handled a passenger throughput of 130,000, representing year-on-year increases of over 48% and 37%, respectively. It is predicted that in 2026, Xiamen Port will host approximately 100 cruise ship dockings during the “Cruise Season,” with passenger throughput expected to exceed 150,000.
