On the morning of February 5th, the Fourth Session of the 14th People’s Congress of Anhui Province opened, with Governor Wang Qingxian delivering the “Government Work Report.” The report proposed the main expected goals for Anhui Province’s economic and social development in 2026: a regional GDP growth of 5% to 5.5%, with efforts to achieve better results in actual work; a retail sales total of consumer goods growth of about 4%; an import and export total growth of about 6%; the per capita disposable income growth rate of urban permanent residents higher than the national average; the per capita disposable income growth rate of rural permanent residents higher than the national average and higher than the growth rate of urban residents’ income; approximately 680,000 new urban jobs.
