U.S. Energy Secretary Arrives in Venezuela

On the 11th local time, U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm arrived in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, to meet with Acting President Rodriguez and others. According to U.S. sources, Granholm is the highest-ranking U.S. official to visit this South American country since the use of force against Venezuela. Granholm previously stated that this trip would include meetings with Acting President Rodriguez and senior executives in the oil and natural gas industry, as well as an assessment of Venezuela’s oil and gas production status.
