Industrial production in Moldova rose 9.3% year-on-year in December 2025, easing from an upwardly revised 11.8% increase in the previous month. This marked the softest growth in industrial activity since August, as output eased in the manufacturing sector (19.3% vs 19.6% in November), particularly in food products (28% vs 58%) and computer, electronic, and optical products (1.5% vs 14.9%). On the other hand, production in mining and quarrying rebounded sharply to 42.8% from a 2.5% drop in the previous month. Electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply also fell at a slightly slower pace (-8.4% vs -9.8%). On a monthly basis, industrial output increased 13.7% in December, accelerating from an upwardly revised 8.3% rise in the preceding month.
