The Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong has sent a letter to The Wall Street Journal, refuting its editorial on the Jimmy Lai case

The Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong sent a letter to The Wall Street Journal, refuting its editorial on the Jimmy Lai case. The spokesperson of the office wrote to The Wall Street Journal to counter the editorial regarding the Jimmy Lai case. To the editorial board of The Wall Street Journal: On February 9, immediately after Jimmy Lai was sentenced to 20 years in prison, your newspaper published an editorial titled “Jimmy Lai Sentenced to Death,” which is clearly a premeditated piece. The editorial disregards facts, is filled with bias, and severely misleads the public. I want to tell your newspaper that baseless speculation across the ocean does not reflect the true situation in Hong Kong. The era of sensational headlines and false information misleading the public has come to an end. (The Paper)
