Matrixport obtains Bhutan Financial Services License (FSL), accelerating the deployment of regulated institutional digital financial services

ChainCatcher News, Matrixport announced that its Bhutan entity, Matrix Bhutan Pte Ltd, has obtained a Financial Services License (FSL) issued by the Bhutan Glep Financial Services Office (GFSO).

The license authorizes the company to conduct multiple regulated financial services within or from the Glep Mindfulness City (GMC) in Bhutan, including currency services, OTC trading (proprietary matching trades), and custody services. This licensing marks a significant milestone following the provisional approval (IPA) received in December 2025, and also signifies that Matrix Bhutan Pte Ltd is officially authorized to operate under Bhutan’s regulatory framework.

In the future, Matrixport will continue to strictly adhere to the regulations of GFSO and GMC, focusing on compliance, risk management, and sound governance, and will persist in advancing institutional-level digital financial services.
