There are indeed more people now trading contracts. Compared to spot trading, the mindset is completely different.

When holding spot assets, you’re reluctant to sell after making a profit, always wanting to earn a little more. When prices fall, you hold on tightly, hoping for a "rebound eventually." This easily leads to long-term holding mindset traps, making it hard to let go of psychological expectations.

With contracts, the approach is completely reversed. When making a profit, you want to close the position and take the profit; when losing a little, you cut losses immediately. Short-term trading is frequent, and the mindset fluctuates with market movements, allowing for quick decision-making.

The most interesting thing is that, after re-engaging with contracts recently, I found that the market environment and trader mentality have changed a lot compared to 2020. Back then, everyone was more focused on long-term gains; now, the approach is filled with short-term operational logic. I don’t know if the market has matured or if risk awareness has increased.

Spot traders have a gambler's mentality; contracts are where true traders' mindset lies.

Holding spot is easy, but holding contracts is difficult—that's human nature.

Contract players are indeed more stable in their mindset; that greed in spot trading can really mess people up.

ngl the shift from hodl mentality to this mercurial short-term arbitrage is exactly what happens when adoption curves flatten and network effects plateau... 2020 was peak idealism, now we're just extracting value before the next narrative collapse tbh

Contracts are just gambler mentality; frequent trading makes it impossible to stop. Spot trading allows for self-cultivation, but contracts directly turn you into a lunatic. Basically, it's human nature—greed and fear switch too quickly. What about the true believers from 2020? Now they all switch to short-term trading, right?

Contract traders are like this: they take profits and run, cut losses and exit, which actually keeps their mindset stable. The psychological build-up of spot trading is the real hell.

Contracts really strip away human nature, making people run after a profit and cut losses quickly. This change in mindset is indeed ruthless.
