Interesting development. The exchange in Korea is planning to do something—extending the trading hours from the current 09:00-15:30. The current plan is to establish a working group to study how to expand to a 12-hour trading window. The proposed plan is as follows: add pre-market and after-hours sessions, so that trading hours could cover from 7 AM to 7 PM, or 8 AM to 8 PM, with the specifics still under discussion. Compared to the current supplementary window of only 15:40-18:00 after hours, this is indeed a significant change. If this moves forward, it will give traders more operational flexibility.

Korea is planning to implement a 12-hour trading window for this surgery, definitely pushing the limits.

It's rolled up, Korea is going to have 24-hour trading
Is this to compete with the US stock market for attention?
A 12-hour window sounds like a lot, but can it really be implemented?
It's still in the planning stage, let's wait and see
Will the liquidity keep up when more people join?
From 7 AM to 7 PM, the dream of hourly workers
Pre-market and after-hours trading, who can handle that?
It feels like it's just to attract more retail investors

The Korean exchange's move is indeed aggressive, directly opening a 12-hour window for traders. It seems like they want to capture more trading volume.
