The Sonic public chain has been quite interesting lately.

It runs on the Ethereum Virtual Machine architecture, but it's much faster—processing over 10,000 transactions per second. The team has put in significant work on the execution layer, incentive design, and underlying architecture.

Currently, the token price hovers around $0.10, with a market cap close to $400 million. As an independent Layer 1, this size means it has established a solid foothold in the infrastructure sector.

Compared to other EVM-compatible chains, Sonic's TPS numbers are impressive. However, whether it can truly take off still depends on whether its ecosystem applications can gain traction.

tps numbers look neat but honestly we've seen this movie before... ecosystem adoption is where 90% of these chains die, ngl

More than 10,000 TPS sounds great, but the ecosystem is really a hard problem.

Over ten thousand TPS sounds impressive, but this thing's ecosystem only has a few pathetic projects, it's really not enough to see.

Over ten thousand TPS sounds impressive, but the ecological applications are still barren.

Ecology is the key. Speed alone is useless.

More than 10,000 TPS sounds impressive, but the real competition is whether there are killer applications; otherwise, it’s pointless no matter how fast it is.

Yet another "fast" public chain... Sounds pretty much like those that died last year.

It's only real when the ecosystem takes off. What's the point of hyping up TPS now?
