Gate News message. On April 8, the State Administration of Radio and Television launched a one-month special campaign to govern “AI tampering” videos in January 2026. This campaign focused on removing illegal videos that used AI to tamper with classic TV series based on the four great classical novels, historical themes, revolutionary themes, and model characters. It also simultaneously cleared various types of cult animations. The special campaign removed more than 23,000 related illegal videos and handled more than 100 illegal accounts, effectively curbing the negative trend of illegal video spread.
