A man who claims to be “the smartest in the world” makes 5 predictions about cryptocurrency

YoungHoon Kim, the Vietnamese man who claims to have the highest IQ in the world at 276, has just made a series of bold predictions about the cryptocurrency market on X, with XRP (XRP) at the center.

Kim currently has a significant following on social media and frequently shares his views on Bitcoin (BTC), XRP, and market trends.

Kim calls himself the “Son of XRP”

In a flurry of posts, Kim calls himself the “Son of XRP,” claiming he “was born to bring XRP to $100” and that “nobody can stop [him].” At the same time, he said the cryptocurrency market is facing a period of “explosion.”

These remarks further strengthen Kim’s increasingly aggressive pro-XRP stance. Previously, he predicted XRP could reach $100 within 5 years and argued that Ripple’s token outperforms BTC.

At the time of writing, XRP is trading around $1.32, down 1.67% over the past 24 hours. To hit the $100 mark, this asset would need to rise by about 7,475% from its current level.

Controversial claims draw skepticism

Kim’s predictions have attracted a great deal of attention due to his claimed IQ of 276—the foundation that helps him build an image of “the smartest person in the world.” However, the credibility of these assertions has been repeatedly called into question.

Specifically, his January 6 prediction that Bitcoin would reach $100,000 within 48 hours did not come true, as the price of BTC fell from $93,747 to $91,099.

He once said XRP would set a new all-time high by the end of 2025—which did not happen—and predicted BTC would reach $300,000 in early 2026, a price level the market has not even approached yet.

An investigation published by VICE in July 2025 showed that experts could not recreate the IQ level Kim claimed from the data of his test results.

Chris Leek, a Mensa representative, said inferring an IQ of 276 is “meaningless.” Meanwhile, psychologist Jason Betts estimated Kim’s actual IQ score is unlikely to exceed 175.

On the other side, Kim’s supporters, including GIGA Society, argue that the figure of 276 is calculated using a standard deviation of 24, which is equivalent to about 210 on the more widely used SD15 scale. However, a pre-published study meant to reinforce this argument in August 2025 was later withdrawn.
