Elon Musk proposes SpaceXAI + Tesla TERAFAB project reaching 1 trillion watts of computing power per year

Elon Musk has announced an ambitious vision to combine SpaceX’s AI capabilities with Tesla’s TERAFAB manufacturing method. The “SpaceXAI + Tesla TERAFAB” project aims to achieve one trillion watts of computing power annually, marking a significant leap forward in artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Musk stated that the US currently produces only about 0.5 terawatts of electricity, meaning this demand cannot be fully met on Earth. Therefore, he proposed that most of the computing power should be placed in space, where energy limitations are less restrictive. This idea reflects a strategy to integrate space technology, energy, and AI to overcome current limitations.
