To help streamers better manage their fan relationships and boost engagement efficiency, the Fan Group feature has been fully upgraded.
Streamers can now freely share a variety of content within their groups, including images, text updates, event information, and livestream announcements.
This enables precise community management and content distribution, increasing both fan activity and loyalty.
1. Fan Group User Guide
Gate Live offers streamers a flexible fan group management system, supporting the creation of both “Public” and “Private” group types.
(1) Public Groups
Public groups are open to all users. Group information and member lists are visible to everyone, making them ideal for early-stage user acquisition and increased exposure.
Use Cases & Advantages:
- Open to all users, lowering the barrier for fans to join
- Group members and information are publicly displayed, helping boost account visibility
- Great for streamers looking to quickly grow their fanbase and expand their community
- Fosters an open and active atmosphere, encouraging new users to engage
(2) Private Groups
Private groups operate via invitation or approval only, allowing streamers to selectively add users. This is better suited for in-depth engagement with core fans.

- Only accessible through streamer invitation or approval, ensuring more targeted membership
- Easier to manage highly active and loyal core fans
- Especially suitable for paid subscriber communities

(3) Multiple Groups for Flexible Management
The platform allows streamers to create multiple fan groups for layered community management according to different purposes. For example:

- Use private groups for subscribers, core fans, or exclusive benefit communities
By leveraging multiple groups, streamers can manage traffic more efficiently, retain fans, and continuously improve overall operational effectiveness.
2. How to Create a Fan Group
To ensure community quality and platform standards, Gate Live uses a unified fan group application process. Eligible streamers can apply to create a group by following these steps:
- Creation Criteria: Streamers can apply to create a fan group after streaming for at least 14 days
- Application Method: Contact Live Support via the platform’s [Hot Chat] feature to submit your application and receive dedicated 1-on-1 support
3. How to Invite Fans to Join
In addition to invitation links, the platform offers several quick in-app entry points to help streamers efficiently guide fans into their groups during livestreams and daily operations.
The following methods require your fan group to be set as “Public” and users’ app version to be above v6.12.0.

Livestream Room Entry: During a livestream, viewers can tap the [More/…] button in the bottom right corner of the room, select [Fan Group], and join with one click.

Profile Page Entry: Viewers can go to the streamer’s personal profile page and tap the [Message Box] icon to the left of the Follow button to join the corresponding fan group.
4. Important Notes
To maintain a healthy community environment and platform order, streamers should keep the following in mind when using the Fan Group feature:
- It is strictly prohibited to share or promote contact information for other social platforms or external channels within the group.
- Set your fan group type and joining method reasonably based on your operational needs to maintain a healthy and orderly community atmosphere.
- If any violations are found, the platform will handle them according to relevant rules. Serious offenses may result in restrictions on feature usage.
