Police vehicle ambushed in northwestern Pakistan, resulting in 7 deaths

Pakistan police said on the 13th that a police vehicle in Pakistan’s northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was attacked by a roadside bomb that day, killing 7 police officers.

A local police spokesperson said that, on that day, a police detachment was conducting routine patrols on a highway in the Rejimel Ward area of the province when a makeshift explosive device placed by the roadside was detonated in advance, resulting in 5 police officers dying on the spot, with others also injured. Two injured police officers were later taken to a hospital, but both died from their injuries due to their severity.

The spokesperson said that after the blast, law enforcement personnel sealed off the area and carried out an initial investigation. At present, no organization has claimed responsibility for the bombing attack.

In a statement condemning the attack, Pakistani President Zardari said that Pakistan’s determination to eradicate terrorism remains firm and unwavering. (CCTV News)
