According to CCTV Finance, recently, the memory price surge has swept across the globe. A reporter’s investigation at the Huaqiangbei electronics market in Shenzhen found that whether it is essential office computers or high-end gaming consoles, costs have significantly increased due to soaring memory prices. A merchant stated, “The cheapest Kingston 16GB standard RAM (basic memory) was around 200 yuan during the April-May period last year. Now, it’s generally over 800 yuan. 32GB memory used to be 800 yuan, and now it might cost around 3,800 yuan, an increase of about 300%.” The doubling of memory prices has directly driven up the overall cost of computers. Faced with this situation, budget-conscious users have started to be more frugal and even turn to the second-hand market for alternatives.
