The Ministry of Education held a deployment meeting for the National Education Digital Strategy Action 2026 today (on the 31st). Minister Huai Jinpeng said that the ministry should continue to develop rich resources for the national smart education platform, rely on artificial intelligence technology, build more intelligent and personalized resources and tools, empower students’ learning, and support individualized growth and learning. Based on the goal of promoting the all-round development of students in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education, it will establish an immersive ideological and political education model featuring “full depth,” “full coverage,” “all participants,” and “all times.” It will explore effective pathways for artificial intelligence to empower physical education and aesthetic education, labor education, and science and technology education. Huai Jinpeng also said that colleges and universities should conduct intelligent upgrades according to industrial structures, set up a batch of disciplines and majors that are suited to new technologies, new industries, and new business models, serve the development of the intelligent economy, and offer well-designed cross-disciplinary integration courses in artificial intelligence to cultivate interdisciplinary, composite talents. Vocational education should work with industry enterprises to formulate talent cultivation plans, continuously update and iterate the curriculum system, jointly build internship, training, and practice bases, and cultivate, in a targeted manner, high-skilled talents for emerging positions brought about by artificial intelligence technology.
