On February 28, local time, Iran was subjected to a military strike, and the local security situation in Iran is extremely severe and complex. The Chinese Embassy in Turkey has the following warm reminders for Chinese citizens regarding evacuation from Iran to Turkey via the Turkey-Iran land border ports of entry:

  1. Status of Turkey-Iran land border ports of entry
At present, three Turkey-Iran border ports of entry are open: Kap k y Port in Van Province (connecting to Iran’s Razi Port), Gürbulak Port in Ağrı Province (connecting to Iran’s Bazargan Port), and Esendere Port in Hakkari Province (connecting to Iran’s Sero Port). For any changes in the status of port openings, please refer to the relevant notices.

  2. Entry requirements for Chinese citizens
Turkey has implemented a visa-free policy for Chinese citizens holding ordinary passports for purposes of tourism and transit. Chinese citizens may, within any 180-day period, stay in Turkey for a cumulative total of no more than 90 days.

  3. Arrangements by our embassy
Starting today, our embassy has dispatched a working group to the Turkey-Iran border ports of entry to prepare for and provide support for the arrival of Chinese citizens.
