The United States plans to create a record-breaking $1.5 trillion defense budget and expects real GDP growth of 3.1% in the fiscal year 2027.
ME News update: April 3 (UTC+8), according to JIN10 data, U.S. President Trump’s budget proposal is expected to deliver real GDP growth of 3.1% in fiscal year 2027. The Trump budget proposal is expected to collect $464.0 billion in tariff revenue in fiscal year 2027. , U.S. President Donald Trump has released an overview of the budget proposal for fiscal year 2027, planning to request $1.5 trillion in defense spending, including about $1.1 trillion allocated to the Department of Defense and $350 billion for critical munitions procurement and expansion of the defense industrial base. The White House said it will cut $73.0 billion in non-defense spending under the “strictly adhere to the total spending red line,” covering areas such as education and environmental protection. More detailed budget documents will be released later. The proposal includes expanding power-generation ammunition production capacity, purchasing 34 vessels (including a new battleship named after Trump and new types of frigates), funding the “Golden Dome” missile defense system, and other items; the related content requires the Republican-controlled Congress to complete review and pass legislation before the start of the new fiscal year.
