Longs got wrecked on a day Bitcoin barely moved

$97.54 million liquidated in 24 hours, 79,270 traders wiped out, and Bitcoin's range was just $66,633 to $67,515. That is an $882 spread. People blew up their positions on basically nothing.

The ETH number is the one that stands out. $33.5 million in ETH liquidations, more than double Bitcoin's $15.34 million, while ETH was trading around $2,041. No massive crash, no black swan, just slow choppy price action grinding through over-leveraged positions like they were not even there.

Binance alone accounted for $18.6 million in just a 4-hour window, with longs making up $17.5 million of that. That is not a balanced market getting shaken out. That is one side of the trade getting systematically destroyed.

SOL added another $3.81 million in liquidations, XRP $1.27 million, DOGE $887K. Across the board, longs dominated the damage. 59% of all liquidations were long positions in a market that was not even falling hard.

This is what overleveraged positioning looks like in a range-bound market. Traders load up expecting a breakout, price drifts sideways with small dips, and the funding mechanics do the rest. No dramatic move required.

The market does not need to crash to take your money. It just needs to go nowhere for long enough.
