During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, courts at all levels nationwide concluded more than 2.5 million first-instance intellectual property cases.

The Supreme People’s Court held a press conference to introduce relevant information on the work of “strengthening judicial protection of intellectual property rights for science and technology innovation” during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. From 2021 to 2025, courts at all levels across the country concluded 2.5 million-plus first-instance cases of all types of intellectual property disputes, an increase of 64.44% compared with the previous five-year period, and they show the following three distinct features: First, disputes in high-tech and frontier technology fields have continued to increase. Second, the share of disputes involving original innovation has been steadily rising. Third, there is a clear trend toward diversification of the parties to disputes. (CCTV News)
