On February 4th, the China Institute of Innovation Finance, Finovature, and Chengdu Institute of Innovation Finance jointly released the Global Innovation Finance Index (GIFI) and the Global Innovation Finance Research Report. They conducted in-depth research and ranking evaluations of 54 global nodes and 50 domestic nodes that serve as both financial centers and innovation hubs. The evaluation results show that, in the global landscape, North America leads overall, while Asia demonstrates strong innovation momentum, with Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Shenzhen ranking among the top fifteen worldwide.
Regarding the evaluation of mainland Chinese cities, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Hangzhou occupy the top five positions, followed by Chongqing, Chengdu, Suzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan, Xi’an, Tianjin, Zhengzhou, Changsha, and Hefei, which all make the top fifteen. Many of these high-ranking cities are either well-established powerhouses that developed early due to advantageous location and policy benefits or are core cities within emerging urban clusters, leveraging deep economic foundations and regional collaborative development opportunities.
